Union League of Philadelphia Commissions Cassy Tully to Create Original Artwork Celebrating the Holiday Season

The Union League of Philadelphia, ranked the #1 City Club in the country for an unprecedented sixth consecutive time, has commissioned sports and lifestyle artist Cassy Tully to create original holiday artwork depicting the club’s historic League House. The League is also hosting Cassy for a print signing during their Holiday Show on Thursday, December 6, 2023.

Since its founding in 1862, the League House, occupying an entire city block, has represented the values of freedom and enterprise, inspiring its more than 4,000 members who contribute to club life and preserve its traditions.

Cassy’s original 12 X 16” artwork depicts the majesty of the League House’s French Renaissance architecture, ribbons of snow gathered softly along its roofline and gracing its window pediments. Festive garland and bursts of red holly berries adorn the twin circular staircases and entrance roof, while wreaths, hung in the windows, beckon members with their holiday spirit.

“I am honored that my painting will be a treasured part of the Union League’s collection,” Cassy said. “Preserving our historic places on canvas is a remarkable legacy to leave for current and future Union League members and the guests that are so warmly welcomed into its halls.”

In addition to the painting, 12 X 16” prints and beautiful boxed notecards will be available in the Union League’s gift shop. This collection is an opportunity for members and guests to bring home a treasured keepsake.

The League House, built in 1865, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. At 1.25 million square feet of size, the building occupies eight floors, housing a distinguished collection of art. Its artifacts, adorning the walls and hallways, are recognized by historians and art experts as valued American history.

Cassy Tully Creates Painting Depicting Fallen Oak Golf Course, Host of 2023 VGA National Championship

The Veteran Golfers Association is hosting their National Championship on September 17-21, 2023, at Fallen Oak Golf Course, exclusive to Beau Rivage Resort and Casino. The VGA has commissioned Cassy Tully, sports and lifestyle artist, to create an 18 X 36” painting depicting the stately clubhouse, its expansive windows framing a spectacular view of the majestic tree that inspired the club’s name.

Cassy’s remarkable painting highlights the course’s soft mist, with fog rising elegantly from the water near the 18th hole. The radiant lights of the clubhouse draw the eye, and the setting is balanced by the textural splendor of the massive oak. Overlooking the scene is a lustrous sky, washed with soft pinks and delicate opal clouds.

“I am pleased to continue supporting the VGA and their dedication to enriching the lives of Veterans and their family members through golf,” Cassy said. “As I painted, I let my brush be inspired by the commitment our Veterans have made to serve our country, creating the colors of the sky especially as a source of hope and solace.”

Fallen Oak, a beautiful Tom Fazio-designed course, is operated by Beau Rivage Casino Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi. Fazio thoughtfully balanced the land’s original contours with natural elements to create a sense of artistry and adrenalin across the 18-hole, par-72 championship layout.

Cassy’s painting captures Fazio’s respect for nature in an ideal blend of light and harmony. This painting will also be reproduced as 12 X 24” Limited Edition Commemorative Prints, signed and numbered. Cassy will attend the Champions Dinner on September 20th, a wonderful opportunity for members and guests to meet her, have prints personalized, and learn more about her championship golf artwork.

“The impact of these events on Veterans and their loved ones is tremendous,” Cassy said. “Being part of the patriotism and ongoing support of the VGA in bringing together Veterans and the wider golf community is inspiring.”

Olympia Fields Golf Course, Host of 2023 BMW Championship, to Feature Cassy Tully Original Artwork

The 2023 BMW Championship will take place at Olympia Fields Country Club, Olympia Fields, IL, on August 15 - 20, 2023. Cassy, whose sports and lifestyle paintings are collected internationally, created an original masterpiece for the championship.

Cassy’s 24 X 30” painting depicts the triumphant moment of the world’s top-ranked golfer Jon Rahm sinking a 66-foot putt to win the 2020 BMW Championship, with the scene anchored by the club’s majestic clock tower.

“One of the greatest joys of being a golf artist is depicting the moments when preparation, skill, and ingenuity meet to create remarkable golf moments,” Cassy said. “Showing the top ranked Jon Rahm at the point of victory creates a feeling on canvas that’s palpable.”

The North Course at Olympia Fields was designed in 1923 by Willie Park, Jr., two-time Open Champion and grandfather of inland golf design. Cassy’s painting depicts the beauty and grace of Park’s design through her signature relief-painting technique.

The 121st Western Amateur will take place on July 31 - August 5, 2023, at North Shore Country Club in Glenview, IL. Cassy Tully, whose sports and lifestyle paintings are collected internationally, was commissioned to create an original painting for the event.

Founded in 1900, North Shore Country Club features a 7,031-yard, 18-hole golf course designed by English architect Hugh Alison. North Shore has hosted multiple national tournaments, including the 1933 U.S. Open and 1939 and 1983 U.S. Amateur. This year, North Shore will be hosting the 121st Western Amateur, renowned for being the toughest test in amateur golf and a prestigious national championship since its founding in 1899. The Western Amateur is presented by the Western Golf Association, which conducts championships for professional and amateur golfers, promotes the use of youth caddies, and supports the Evans Scholars Foundation’s efforts to award full tuition and housing college scholarships, providing a program that addresses barriers to college success.

Cassy’s painting features the par-4, 412-yard 9th hole. Created in her signature relief-painting style, the view is anchored by the majestic clubhouse that overlooks a sweeping, emerald fairway. The caddy’s bib displays the iconic WGA and Evans Scholars logo. The painting will be reproduced as prints, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Evans Scholars Foundation.

“My painting highlights the true partnership between a golfer and caddy,” Cassy said. “It is my mission to use my talent to give back, and there is no better opportunity in golf than supporting the WGA and Evans Scholars Foundation.”
